Weddings
Chichester City Council is Licensed to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies at the Council House which is a Grade II* listed building, situated in the centre of Chichester with plenty of local parking within a few minutes walk from the Council House.
The Council Chamber, the Assembly Room and the Old Court Room
are available and can be used either individually or as part of a package.
The Eighteenth Century Council Chamber (above) is of neo-classical style with a coved ceiling to give a heightened, domed effect and ornamented ceiling with classic motifs. In the centre of the Chamber hangs a magnificent
Eighteenth Century chandelier. The room capacity is 55 people.
The cost of hiring the Council Chamber for a ceremony is
Monday to Friday - £250 + VAT (2013 offer only)
Saturday - £500 (inc VAT)
Sunday - £600 (inc VAT)

set up for a Wedding Reception that could cater for up to 130 people.
The cost of hiring the Assembly Room for a Wedding Reception only
is from £558.90 (excl VAT).
If you would like to hold your ceremony and reception at the Council House prices start from £931.50 (excl VAT)The City Council provide a complimentary flower arrangement on the registrars table for a ceremony choosing colours that match the principal parties' outfits.
We will provide staff to assist the bridal party throughout the ceremony.
We can provide a CD player if a particular piece of music is to be played during the ceremony providing this is discussed and approved by the Registrar in advance.The bridal car may use the City Council car park but there is strictly no parking for any guests.
No confetti is to be thrown in the Council House.An ideal place to take wedding photographs could be either nearby Priory Park or Bishop's Palace Gardens, which are both surrounded by the City Walls and will provide a lovely setting for those memorable pictures.

There are two rooms to hire at the Council House both of which have the use of a kitchen area and have disabled access.
The Assembly Room (above) is an ideal venue for hirers wanting to hold functions such as Conferences, Exhibitions, Concerts, Seminars, Dances, etc, and can cater for up to 180 people depending on the type of function.
The hire charge starts from £78.30 (excl VAT)
The Old Court Room (above) is a medium sized room ideal for Meetings, Exhibitions, Fairs, Coffee Mornings, etc, and can accommodate up to 60 people depending
on the type of function.
The hire charge starts from £51.65 (exclVAT).
The Crush Bar Area
(3.5m x 3.5m)
The Crush Bar is part of the Assembly Room hire, however it is possible to hire this
area separately at the discretion of the City Council and rates are
available on application.
