Weddings

Chichester City Council has been granted a Licence to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies at the Council House. The Council Chamber, the Assembly Room and the Old Court Room are available and can be used either individually or as part of a package.

The Eighteenth Century Council Chamber is of neo-classical style with
a coved ceiling to give a heightened, domed effect and ornamented ceiling
with classic motifs. In the centre of the Chamber hangs a magnificent
Eighteenth Century chandelier. The room capacity is 40 people.

set up for a Wedding Reception

The Council House is a Grade II* listed building situated in the centre of Chichester. There is plenty of local parking within a few minutes walk from the Council House.

The City Council provide a complimentary flower arrangement on the registrars table for a civil ceremony choosing colours match the principal parties' outfits. We will also provide staff to assist the bridal party throughout the ceremony.

The bridal car may use the City Council car park but there is strictly no parking for any guests.

An ideal place to take wedding photographs is nearby Priory Park, which is surrounded by the City Walls and will provide a lovely setting for those memorable pictures.

We can provide a CD player if a particular piece of music is to be played during the ceremony providing this is discussed and approved by the Registrar in advance.

No confetti is to be thrown in the Council House.
