Chichester City Council

Christmas Lights Display

There are Christmas Lights in Chichester this year.

The Lights were switched on by the Mayor of Chichester, Councillor Tony French, and actor Simon Callow on Saturday 26 November at the City Cross.

Gala Lights have been approved as the City Council's lighting contractor for the 2011 Christmas Lights display. This is a one year contract which will use existing fixing points in North, South, East and West Streets, plus St Martin's Street and Crane Street.

Chichester City Council has budgeted £15,000 towards the Christmas Lights display this year. If a minimum of £15,000 match funding was received from the business community by 3rd May 2011 a Christmas Lights display would take place in 2011.

As of 4th May 2011 the target for match funding has not only been met, it has been exceeded!

Money is still being collected from initiatives organised to raise funds for a Christmas Lights display so the total below will continue to be revised.

Thank you to everyone listed below who have supported the campaign to see Christmas Lights in Chichester this year.

The aim is to turn all the baubles red and light the star!
